Terms and conditions

The users agree to the following terms and conditions when using Transfercar.co.nz.

All users

1. Transfercar is a facilitator between vehicle owners in need of relocating vehicles and relocation drivers.
2. Transfercar does not take any responsibility for loss or damage to vehicle owner or cost or fines applying to Relocation drivers relocating a particular relocation vehicle.
3. Transfercar does not accept any liabilities for unavailability in case Vehicle owner does not choose to supply the relocation vehicle to the Relocation Driver. Any dispute in that matter has to be solved directly between Vehicle owner and Relocation driver.
4. It is not permitted under any circumstances for vehicle owner to try to facilitate contact directly to relocation drivers to avoid paying the appropriate fee to Transfercar. Examples of this are by adding phone numbers, logo, email address to the common listing details
5. Both Vehicle owners and Relocation drivers are required to comply with these terms or conditions or any future changes.
6. Transfercar makes its best effort to ensure all information on the website is accurate and up-to-date. However, Transfercar cannot and does not guarantee that errors do not occur from time to time.
7. Transfercar reserves the right to validate all information provided to Transfercar by Vehicle owners and Relocation drivers.
8. Transfercar reserves the right to change information published on the site at any time.

Vehicle owner

1. It is free for Vehicle owner to list relocation vehicles at Transfercar's website.
2. A fee applies to the Vehicle owners when they accept a request from a Relocation driver.
3. Vehicle owner can at any time withdraw any listed relocation vehicles as long as no Relocation driver has been accepted.
4. Vehicle owner cannot list vehicles on behalf of other vehicle owners.

Insurance for Campervans, 4 WD & Motorhomes

PROTECTION PACKAGES AVAILABLE:

You have a choice of CDW (Collision Damage Waiver) or CC (Complete Cover)

“CC” and ”CDW” does not cover, intentional, neglectful or wilful damage, damage to the vehicles interior, immersion of the vehicle in water or contact with salt water, underbody damage, overhead damage, water damage, damage and third party damage caused by or arising out of the vehicle's use on an unsealed surface (except 4x4 vehicles) or any breach of the "Conditions of Rental Agreement" as per your signed rental agreement.  The renter will be fully liable for all damage which is not covered.

Please note: The CC cover is only available for a hire period in excess of 30 days.

If any driver is under 25 years of age, the Damage Liability fee and the Security Bond both double.

All Damage Cover is forfeited if:

• the terms and conditions of the rental contract are breached. The hirer is then responsible for the total costs of any damage.
• the vehicle is submersed in or damaged by water or salt water
• driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs and on restricted roads
• wilful damage such as standing or sitting on the vehicle's roof or bonnet is strictly prohibited and is at the hirers cost.
• the hirer is responsible for any recovery costs that may occur if the vehicle becomes bogged or stranded caused by driver error regardless of the insurance excess / level of cover.

These payments cover one accident only - in the event of an accident the bond or additional insurance payment will be collected again for the balance of the rental days. The loss or theft of personal belongings or damage sustained to the vehicle's interior fittings or equipment are not covered (except in the case of collision damage)

Government Stamp Duty: Included in the daily rental rate.

GST: Included in the daily rental rate.

Terms & Conditions

One Way Fee

The higher of the fees below applies where you travel one way between the cities below.:

• Broome = $750.00
• Alice Springs, Darwin and Cairns = $300.00

i.e: A rental starting in Broome and finishing in Alice Springs would have a One Way fee of $700.00

No One Way Fee applies to bookings in excess of 30 days ( except Broome)

RENTAL CHARGES

When calculating the number of days a vehicle is rented, the day of pick up is counted as day one of the rental, regardless of pick up time. The day of the vehicle’s return is counted as the final day of the rental. When a rental moves from one rate season to the next, the calculation is based on both rates.

Any payments done by credit card are subject to a 2% fee in addition to the payment.

RENTAL DURATION & KILOMETRES

Minimum rental for all vehicles is 14 days.

Rentals are based on 300 kilometres per day for bookings up to 30 days and unlimited kilometres for booking in excess of 30 days

BRANCH HOURS FOR PICK-UP AND DROP-OFF:

Sydney, Melbourne, Brisbane, Adelaide, Cairns, Alice Springs, Darwin and Perth.

Monday to Friday –9.00am to 4.00pm

Weekends, Public Holidays and late pickups/ drop offs by prior arrangement only.

LICENCE MINIMUM/MAXIMUM AGE

A valid Driver's Licence from your Country of Origin or Residence, or an International Licence is acceptable. The minimum age is 25 years. The maximum age is 75 years. Arrangements can be made for drivers aged between 21 and 24 and drivers over 75 under special circumstances, subject to additional insurance charges.

CANCELLATION

Other than for exceptional circumstances and then entirely at the discretion of the manager, the following fees will apply for cancellations after confirmation of booking (payment of deposit):

Upto 30 days prior to pick-up: 10% of rental cost

Less than 30 days prior to pick-up: 50% of rental cost

If cancelled on day of pick-up or a No Show: No refund available

If vehicle is returned early: No refund available

CHANGE OF DROP-OFF DESTINATION

Authorization must be obtained if a change of drop-off destination is required.   Boomerang Campers cannot guarantee that any such authorization will be granted.  If authorization is granted, a fee of up to $800 may apply.

INSURANCE

Insurance is a mandatory charge that provides comprehensive cover.

Both CC Protection and CDW Protection Package Protection DO NOT COVER any type of water damage, i.e.: vehicle immersion or salt water damage.

Boomerang Campers reserves the right to restrict vehicle movements and insurance level availability in certain areas due to adverse road or weather conditions.

BOND DEPOSIT

A deposit is required for all vehicles at time of pick up. On return of the vehicle, provided no accident or damage has occurred, the vehicle is completely clean with fuel and gas tanks full, the deposit will be returned to the renter. Payments made via credit card.

MINIMUM HIRE

Minimum rental is 14 days.

CHANGE OF VEHICLE

We reserve the right to substitute a comparable or superior vehicle at no extra cost in extreme circumstances. This shall not constitute a breach of contract and does not entitle the renter to any refund whatsoever.

CLEANING FEE

A cleaning fee of $150 will be charged if the vehicle is not returned in reasonable condition.  Charging of such fee will be at the depot manager’s discretion. The vehicle must be returned with the toilet emptied, otherwise a cleaning fee of $150.00 will be charged.

REFUNDS

There are no refunds for vehicles returned earlier than the agreed term on the rental contract.

DESTINATION / ROAD RESTRICTIONS

Vehicles may be driven in all states; however, restrictions apply depending on road types and standards. All vehicles can only be driven on recognised roads, i.e. roads shown on maps.

Campervans and motorhomes ARE RESTRICTED TO BITUMEN ROADS ONLY. Unsealed access roads to camp grounds are permitted however.

All insurance and refundable money is waived if the above restrictions are breached. Any damage and/or recovery costs are the customer’s responsibility.

REPAIRS

Repairs / tyre replacements  in excess of $ 100.00 must be authorised by our company prior to any repair work proceeding. Our company will reimburse you for expenses incurred in rectifying any authorised problems on presentation of the relevant receipts. We will not accept responsibility for hotel or motel charges, meals or out of pocket expenses – in the case of breakdown, liability will be limited to the refund of hire charges for any days lost.

SERVICE

All vehicles are covered by a national emergency roadside breakdown service.

TRAFFIC INFRINGEMENTS

We reserve the right to charge the renter for any speeding or parking fines and/or accidents not reported on return of the vehicle. ($55 admin fee will apply per fine.)

RENTAL PAYMENTS

All rental charges and security bonds must be paid in full prior to or on the day of the commencement of the rental. All payments to our company must be made in Australian Dollars only. Please note that payment can only be made by Visa or MasterCard. Personal or business cheques, cash, travellers cheques or bank cheques can only be excepted if received 14 days prior to the commencement of the rental.

It is your responsibility to ensure that your credit card has sufficient funds and/or daily transaction limit. No vehicle will be released under any circumstances until the rental payment and Security Bond is paid in full.
